When Quantico Base gutters fill up
Several tree species are common in the region, including sweetgum, red maple, water oak, broadleaf live oak, southern magnolia, loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine. In spring, yellow pollen, sweetgum balls, and live oak drops gather on roof slopes, while fall brings red maple foliage. Conifer pine needles drop into gutter channels year-round. While freezing nights happen and snow is likely in winter, ice dams in gutters are not an issue here. However, packed pine needles and foliage retain frozen moisture that weighs down fascia edges. We recommend complete gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect every Quantico Base home across Virginia seasons.
