When Poquoson gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop debris into home gutter systems throughout the year. Broadleaf live oak, water oak, sweetgum, red maple, and southern magnolia drop leaves and sweetgum balls, while loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine drop pine needles all year long. Spring brings heavy yellow pollen, live oak leaf drop, and acorns, while broadleaf leaf drop usually peaks in late October. Freezing nights happen here, but ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to prevent seasonal clogs in Poquoson, Virginia.
