When Poplar Bluff gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as broadleaf bur oak, silver maple, cottonwood, green ash, hackberry, eastern red cedar, and ponderosa pine, drop heavy material over the roof. Cottonwood fluff floats into channels during spring, while ash seeds, windblown dust, and grit accumulate through summer. Leaf drop usually peaks in late October, filling system lines right before winter arrives. Freezing nights happen and snow is likely in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue. Trapped wet leaves can freeze solid and strain gutter fasteners. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to maintain proper capacity before seasonal changes cause severe blockages.
