When Pembroke gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including sugar maple, red maple, American beech, white birch, northern red oak, eastern white pine, and eastern hemlock, drop heavy debris into open channels. Maple seed wings fall during spring, followed by acorns and fine pine needles through late summer. Leaf drop usually peaks in early October, filling troughs with dense foliage right before winter. Freezing nights cause severe ice dams in clogged gutters when trapped water expands against roof edges under heavy snow. We recommend a complete gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep drainage clear before frozen weather arrives in Massachusetts.
