When Paradise gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, American elm, white pine, and spruce, shed debris into residential drainage channels throughout the year. Broadleaf trees drop heavy leaves, acorns, and maple seed wings, while conifers dump sharp pine needles. Leaf drop usually peaks in early October across Paradise, clogging channels right before winter arrives. Freezing nights happen regularly, and lingering trapped debris causes ice dams in gutters during winter freezes. Trapped ice damages roof edges and pulls downspouts away from siding. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear away foliage and prepare system downspouts for melting winter snow.
