When Palestine gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including post oak, pecan, cedar elm, crape myrtle, broadleaf live oak, loblolly pine, and ashe juniper, create a unique local drop calendar. Live oak leaves drop in spring rather than fall, while oak catkins and pecan shells fall early in the year. Juniper pollen builds up during freezing winter nights, and leaf drop usually peaks in early November. Although snow is rare and ice dams in gutters are not an issue here, water buildup still causes severe structural problems. We recommend residential gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to manage seasonal debris and keep water flowing off the roof.
