When Ormond Beach gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop debris continuously. Broadleaf live oak, water oak, sweetgum, red maple, and southern magnolia drop heavy leaves and sweetgum balls, while loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine cast needles into gutters all year. Spring brings thick yellow pollen, followed by live oak leaf drop and fall acorns. Freezing nights are rare, so ice dams in gutters are not an issue here. However, heavy rains make persistent blockages dangerous. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear out fallen oak leaves and pine needles before wet storm seasons cause structural gutter overflows.
