When Orange gutters fill up
Several tree species are common in the region, including broadleaf live oak, pecan, cedar elm, crape myrtle, post oak, loblolly pine, and ashe juniper. Live oak leaves drop in spring rather than fall, filling channels with dense foliage just as heavy rains begin. In addition, oak catkins, pecan shells, and winter juniper pollen clog outlets and downspout turns throughout the year. Freezing nights are rare in Orange, ice dams do not form in gutters, and snow is rare. Because heavy rainfall occurs across multiple months, we recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, in spring and fall, to keep water moving off the roof cleanly and reliably.
