When Old Jamestown gutters fill up
Tree species common in the region, such as broadleaf bur oak, silver maple, cottonwood, green ash, hackberry, eastern red cedar, and ponderosa pine, release organic material throughout the year. Spring brings cottonwood fluff and ash seeds, while leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, filling gutters with heavy dry and wet leaves. Freezing nights happen and snow is likely during Missouri winters, making clear drainage channels critical before winter sets in. Although ice dams in gutters are not an issue, trapped snow melt can back up into clogged gutters and damage fascia. We recommend scheduled gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect your home.
