Understanding Outlet Blockages and Run Overflow
Drainage failures often look similar from the ground, but an outlet blockage behaves differently from debris spread along an entire channel. If water spills over a single corner near a vertical drop, accumulated twigs or leaves may be choking the narrow transition into the downspout. If water sheets evenly across a long run during rain, the entire trough may be weighed down with sludge or sediment, preventing flow from reaching the drainage points.
