When Northfield gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as broadleaf sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, American elm, white pine, and spruce, drop debris into roof channels throughout the year. Spring drops seed wings and pollen, while leaf drop usually peaks in early October. Falling leaves, acorns, and pine needles collect fast in Northfield rain channels. Winter brings freezing nights and snow, creating ice dams when choked water cannot drain. Ice dams weigh down fascia boards and cause serious roof leaks. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep channels clear before freezing temperatures arrive and to prepare systems for heavy spring rains.
