When Northchase gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including loblolly pine, longleaf pine, slash pine, broadleaf live oak, water oak, sweetgum, red maple, and southern magnolia, drop debris onto Northchase roofs. Pine needles land in gutters all year, joined by yellow pollen in spring, sweetgum balls, acorns, and live oak leaves. General leaf drop usually peaks in late October. Freezing nights happen, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare in North Carolina. Organic debris holds heavy dampness along the roof line. We recommend residential gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to maintain water flow.
