When New Carrollton gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as sweetgum, red maple, water oak, and loblolly pine, release sweetgum balls, acorns, pine needles, and oak leaves. Mid October usually marks the peak leaf drop period in New Carrollton, filling home gutters with damp debris right before winter. Freezing nights happen regularly in Maryland, and while ice dams in gutters are not an issue here, snow is likely each season. Winter snow melt cannot drain properly through blocked downspout lines. We recommend a full gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to manage changing weather conditions and keep your gutter system completely clear.
