When Narragansett gutters fill up
Coastal weather and native trees directly shape the local gutter cleaning schedule. Broadleaf sugar maple, red maple, American beech, white birch, and northern red oak are common in the region, along with eastern white pine and eastern hemlock. These trees drop maple seed wings in spring, followed by acorns, needle fall, and a heavy carpet of fallen leaves that usually peaks in mid October. Freezing nights happen and snow is likely in Narragansett, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue. Trapped water can still freeze inside packed troughs and cause sagging sections. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall.
