When Munson gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, American elm, white pine, and spruce, drop heavy organic waste onto roof areas. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, filling channel line systems with fallen leaves, maple seed wings, acorns, and pine needles. In Munson, freezing nights happen, and snow is likely throughout winter months. Trapped wet matter turns to slush, causing ice dams in gutters that back up meltwater under shingle edges. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to prevent winter freezing damage and keep spring rain moving smoothly.
