When Mount Sinai gutters fill up
Tree species common in the region, such as broadleaf red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, constantly drop debris onto local roofs. In spring, oak catkins drop down, while summer storms knock down small branches. Spiky sweetgum balls, acorns, and broad leaves fill up channels before leaf drop usually peaks in mid October. Freezing nights happen and snow is likely, which can freeze packed debris solid inside your gutter system, even though ice dams in gutters are not an issue here. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to maintain clear drainage channels around your Mount Sinai home.
