When Mount Lebanon gutters fill up
Tree species common in the region, such as broadleaf red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, drop a variety of heavy debris. In spring, oak catkins fall onto the roof, while fall brings fallen leaves, acorns, and spiky sweetgum balls. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, filling roof gutters right before cold weather arrives. Winter brings freezing nights, snow, and the threat of ice dams that block downspouts and strain your roof structure. To protect your property, we recommend scheduling a full gutter cleaning at least twice a year, during spring and fall.
