When Monaca gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including broadleaf red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, drop a steady stream of debris. In spring, oak catkins fall into the channels, followed by summer seeds, acorns, and sweetgum balls. By mid October, fallen leaves dense up the system. Freezing nights, heavy snow, and cold weather create severe ice dams in clogged gutters during winter. Trapped water freezes, expands, and bends the channels away from the fascia. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep channels open through every season in Monaca, Pennsylvania.
