When Minooka gutters fill up
Minooka weather brings cold freezing nights, winter ice, and substantial snow accumulation that directly impacts roof channels. Trees common in the region, such as broadleaf sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, American elm, white pine, and spruce, drop heavy material throughout the year. Fallen leaves, maple seed wings, acorns, and pine needles accumulate inside every open gutter. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, creating solid blockage before winter arrives. Trapped moisture combined with winter frost leads to thick ice dams along the eaves, stressing brackets and fascia boards. We recommend local gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to maintain proper water flow.
