When Medway gutters fill up
Tree species common in the region, such as sugar maple, red maple, American beech, white birch, northern red oak, eastern white pine, and eastern hemlock, drop heavy materials into gutter channels. Spring brings maple seed wings, while fall brings a heavy carpet of fallen leaves and acorns that usually peaks in early October. Pineneedles also accumulate steadily. In freezing nights, trapped winter moisture creates severe ice dams in gutters, preventing snow melt from escaping. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to maintain water flow. Regular gutter cleaning removes seasonal debris before severe winter ice forms along the roof line.
