When Maynard gutters fill up
Tree species common in the region, such as sugar maple, red maple, American beech, white birch, northern red oak, eastern white pine, and eastern hemlock, bring distinct debris into Maynard gutters. Spring brings maple seed wings that lodge tight inside downspouts. Early October usually marks the peak leaf drop, creating a heavy carpet of fallen leaves, pine needles, and acorns across the roof. Freezing nights follow quickly in Massachusetts, making ice dams in gutters a real winter problem if water sits trapped behind thick blockages. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, so snowmelt flows freely through every downspout without forming heavy ice dams along the eaves.
