When Martic gutters fill up
Trees common in the region include broadleaf red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine. In spring, oak catkins drop directly into roof troughs, forming dense mats that trap moisture. Spiky sweetgum balls, acorns, and needle clusters drop throughout summer, while fall bring massive leaf drops that usually peak in mid October. Winter brings freezing nights and snow, which add heavy weight to filled channels. Blocked gutters hold cold slush against the roof edge, accelerating wear on wood fascia. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep channels flowing freely through every seasonal weather change.
