When Margate City gutters fill up
Coastal trees common in the region, including broadleaf red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, drop heavy debris into local gutters. Spring brings oak catkins that clump inside downspouts, while fall brings acorns, spiky sweetgum balls, and leaves. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, filling water channels before winter arrives. Freezing nights happen and snow is likely in New Jersey, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue here. Still, standing water can freeze inside channels and pull brackets away from fascia boards. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, during spring and fall, to protect residential property values.
