Understanding Drainage and Clog Conditions
Water issues along a roofline often stem from different points in the drainage setup. An outlet blockage occurs where leaves or twigs collect directly over the drop outlet, preventing water from entering the vertical pipe. In contrast, overflow along a gutter run can happen when decaying grit, standing sludge, or improper slope slows movement before water ever reaches the drop point. Distinguishing whether water spills over the middle of a trough or backs up at the corner helps define the needed attention.
