When Lower Gwynedd gutters fill up
Local trees common in the region, including red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, drop heavy material onto property roof surfaces. Oak catkins fill gutter lines every spring, while spiky sweetgum balls, acorns, and broad leaves accumulate steadily. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, bringing heavy fall debris into every open gutter. Freezing nights happen throughout Pennsylvania winters, and snow is likely across the region. Accumulated water inside blocked downspout openings can freeze solid during winter weather, straining gutter hangings. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep every gutter line clear and open for continuous seasonal drainage.
