When Long Hill gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, drop material throughout the year. Spring pushes oak catkins into gutters, while fall brings heavy fallen leaves, acorns, and spiky sweetgum balls. In winter, freezing nights happen and snow is likely across New Jersey, although ice dams in gutters are not an issue here. Winter precipitation adds immense weight to clogged channels, pulling gutters away from fascia boards. To prevent overflow and gutter damage, we recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall. Scheduled gutter cleaning keeps downspouts open before freezing temperatures set in each winter.
