When Lemay gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including broadleaf bur oak, silver maple, cottonwood, green ash, hackberry, eastern red cedar, and ponderosa pine, release heavy materials into local gutters. Cottonwood fluff floats into channels during spring, while ash seeds, needles, grit, and dust land on the roof throughout summer. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, filling gutters just before winter. Freezing nights happen and snow is likely, turning wet trapped debris into heavy ice packs. Even though ice dams in gutters are not an issue here, weighed-down gutters can sag under winter snow. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep channels clear.
