When Lebanon gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including sugar maple, red maple, American beech, white birch, northern red oak, eastern white pine, and eastern hemlock, drop heavy debris. Maple seed wings fall in spring, while a heavy carpet of broadleaf leaves and pine needles fills gutters during fall, usually peaking in early October. Freezing nights, heavy snow, and ice dams in gutters are common winter conditions in Lebanon. Ice buildup trapped by trapped debris can lift roof edges and pull heavy metal troughs away from the fascia. We recommend professional cleaning at least twice a year, in spring and fall, to clear organic matter before winter freezes set in.
