When Larkin gutters fill up
Trees common across the region include broadleaf sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, American elm, white pine, and spruce. In spring, maple seed wings fill open channels, while fall brings heavy drops of leaves and acorns. Conifers shed pine needles through late fall and winter. Leaf drop usually peaks in early October, clogging gutter channels right before winter starts. Freezing nights happen frequently, and trapped water creates ice dams in gutters, threatening the roof structure. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear organic debris before winter freezes arrive and to remove leftover buildup after spring blooms drop from nearby branches.
