When Largo gutters fill up
Local foliage throughout Prince George's County drops solid material into drainage systems throughout every month. Trees common in the region, such as sweetgum, red maple, water oak, broadleaf live oak, southern magnolia, loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine, shed heavily into roof channels. Pine needles land constantly, while yellow pollen drops during spring, followed later by spiky sweetgum balls and heavy acorns. Broadleaf live oak foliage drops during spring, while total leaf drop usually peaks in mid October. Freezing nights happen and winter snow is likely, pushing heavy wet slush against trapped twigs. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to maintain clear channels and protect property value.
