When Lansdowne gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop a variety of heavy debris into gutters throughout the year. Pines shed needles constantly, while broadleaf live oaks, water oaks, sweetgum, red maple, and southern magnolias contribute heavy leaves, sweetgum balls, acorns, and spring pollen. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, filling regional rain gutters right before winter. Freezing nights happen and snow is likely in Lansdowne, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue. Trapped water can still freeze, expanding inside downspout joints and risking gutter damage. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep rain gutters flowing freely through summer storms and winter snow.
