When Laketown gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, American elm, white pine, and spruce, shed heavy debris throughout the year. Broadleaf leaves, maple seed wings, acorns, and pine needles drop directly onto the roofline. Leaf drop usually peaks in early October, filling channels right before cold winter weather sets in. Freezing nights happen here, and wet debris creates ice dams in gutters that damage fascia boards and roof edges. Snow melt cannot drain properly through frozen blockages. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect your property before winter arrives.
