When Lake Wylie gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop different materials throughout the year onto Lake Wylie roofs. Broadleaf live oak, water oak, sweetgum, red maple, and southern magnolia drop heavy leaves, sweetgum balls, and acorns. Conifers like loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine shed thin pine needles all year, which pack tightly into low spots. Yellow pollen coats roofs in spring, while leaf drop usually peaks in late October. Freezing nights happen here, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare. We recommend professional gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear this constant mix of regional debris.
