When Jamul gutters fill up
Local foliage comes from trees that are largely evergreen and shed leaves, needles, and seed pods year-round. Because freezing nights are rare, ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare in Jamul. However, continuous dry debris accumulation creates stubborn blockages when seasonal rain eventually arrives. Wind shifts carry pods and dirt straight onto roofs, filling channel bottoms over hot summer months. When winter downpours begin, dry debris packs tightly inside every downspout elbow. To prevent unexpected overflowing during heavy storms, we recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall. Keeping a consistent schedule prevents evergreen material from decaying inside the channels.
