When Ixonia gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop a steady stream of organic matter into gutters. Broadleaf sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, and American elm drop heavy leaf falls along with acorns and winged maple seeds, while white pine and spruce shed needles year-round. Leaf drop usually peaks in early October, filling trough lines just before cold winter weather sets in. Freezing nights, heavy snow, and ice dams in gutters are a real winter problem across Ixonia. Ice expansion strains fascia boards and pulls gutters loose when water stays trapped. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect your home.
