When Huron gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, American elm, white pine, and spruce, drop heavy materials throughout the year. Fallen leaves, maple seed wings, acorns, and pine needles build up fast. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, filling roof drainage channels right before winter sets in. Freezing nights happen regularly in Huron, and ice dams in gutters become a real winter problem when packed snow melts and refreezes inside trapped debris. To avoid winter overflow and severe spring water buildup, we recommend scheduling gutter cleaning at least twice a year, during spring and fall, to protect your property.
