When Hickory Point gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as broadleaf sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, American elm, white pine, and spruce, drop debris directly onto residential roofs. Maple seed wings fall during spring, while leaf drop usually peaks in mid October. Pine needles fall steadily into gutter channels. In winter, freezing nights bring heavy snow and ice, causing severe ice dams in clogged systems. Ice dams hold water against roof edges, straining fascia and causing interior ceiling leaks. We recommend clearing your gutter lines at least twice a year, spring and fall, to prevent seasonal blockages and protect your home during harsh winter cold snaps.
