When Grosse Ile gutters fill up
Tree species common in the region, such as broadleaf sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, American elm, white pine, and spruce, drop debris over Grosse Ile residential properties throughout the year. Spring pushes maple seed wings and pollen into roof channels, while fall brings acorns, heavy fallen leaves, and needle drop that peaks around early October. In winter, freezing nights and snow create ice dams when trapped water cannot drain from crowded channels. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep systems clear before winter freezes arrive and before spring rains begin in Michigan.
