When Greenwood gutters fill up
Local trees common in the region drop organic matter throughout the year into every Greenwood gutter. Post oak and crape myrtle shed leaves, while pecan trees drop shells and broadleaf live oak trees drop leaves in spring rather than fall. Oak catkins fill channels in spring, cedar elm adds debris, and eastern red cedar along with loblolly pine spread winter pollen and needles. Although freezing nights happen, ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare. However, leaf drop usually peaks in late October. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect your property and keep every downspout clear.
