When Gantt gutters fill up
Local trees common in the region drop debris across Gantt yards throughout every season. Conifers like loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine drop pine needles into gutters all year long. Spring brings yellow pollen along with leaf drops from broadleaf live oak, water oak, sweetgum, and red maple. Sweetgum balls and acorns collect during summer, while broadleaf leaf drop usually peaks in late October. Freezing nights happen occasionally in South Carolina winters, but ice dams are not an issue and snow remains rare. We recommend cleaning gutters at least twice a year, during spring and fall, to maintain proper downspout flow and avoid heavy gutter blockages.
