When Galloway gutters fill up
Tree species common in this region, including broadleaf red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, drop a variety of heavy debris. Oak catkins fall in spring, while acorns, spiky sweetgum balls, and fall leaves drop heavily as leaf drop usually peaks in mid October. Freezing nights happen here, and snow is likely during winter weather. Trapped water inside a clogged gutter can freeze into heavy solid blocks, placing severe weight on fascia boards. To keep gutters clear and functioning through snow melts and seasonal rain storms, we recommend a gutter cleaning at least twice a year, during spring and fall.
