When Galion gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop heavy debris into Galion channels throughout the year. Broadleaf species like sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, and American elm drop leaves and acorns, with leaf drop usually peaking in mid October, while white pine and spruce shed pine needles. In spring, maple seed wings fill channels quickly. Freezing nights happen here, making winter ice dams in gutters a real threat when trapped snow and water freeze solid. To protect your roof and fascia from freeze cycles, we recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear path blockages before heavy winter weather arrives.
