When Galax gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop debris throughout every season. Conifers like loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine drop sharp pine needles all year long. Broadleaf species including red maple, sweetgum, water oak, live oak, and southern magnolia shed yellow pollen in spring, while sweetgum balls, acorns, and live oak leaf drop accumulate later. Fall leaf drop usually peaks in late October. Freezing nights happen regularly in Galax, and snow is likely, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear clogged pathways before winter weather arrives and protect overall home roof health.
