When Folcroft gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as broadleaf red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, drop heavy material across Folcroft throughout the year. Spring pushes oak catkins into every open gutter, while leaf drop usually peaks in mid October. Fall fills channels with dense fallen leaves, acorns, and spiky sweetgum balls. Freezing nights happen in Pennsylvania and snow is likely, which can freeze wet debris solid inside a clogged channel. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear out organic debris before freezing weather settles over the area and blocks drainage.
