When Finderne gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop debris throughout the year. Broadleaf red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, and sweetgum release fallen leaves, heavy acorns, spiky sweetgum balls, and spring oak catkins. Eastern white pine trees shed thin needles that easily bind together inside metal channels. Winter brings freezing nights and likely snow, which increases the total weight on sagging channels loaded with sodden leaves. We recommend a full gutter cleaning at least twice a year, once in spring to clear early plant shedding and once in fall to clear autumnal leaf accumulation. Timely removal prevents wet blockages from remaining trapped along your roof edge during winter freezes.
