When Edison gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as broadleaf red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, drop heavy foliage, spiky sweetgum balls, acorns, and spring oak catkins directly onto local roofs. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, quickly clogging channels right before winter. Freezing nights happen and snow is likely, making clear channels essential to direct winter snowmelt off the roof safely, even though ice dams in gutters are not an issue here. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to manage seasonal decay and keep every residential gutter free of debris through freezing weather.
