When East Meadow gutters fill up
Local trees common in the region, including broadleaf red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, impact every outdoor setup. Oak catkins fill gutters each spring, while spiky sweetgum balls, acorns, and broad leaves drop heavily as fall unfolds. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, filling upper channels rapidly. Winter brings freezing nights and likely snow, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue here. Still, frozen slush inside a clogged gutter adds significant weight and stops early spring meltwater from escaping properly. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to maintain clear channels and keep downspout sections fully operational.
