When Del Rio gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as broadleaf live oak, pecan, cedar elm, crape myrtle, post oak, loblolly pine, and ashe juniper, drop materials into gutters at different times. Live oaks drop heavy leaves during spring rather than fall, while winter brings thick ashe juniper pollen drifts. Pecan trees drop hard shells, heavy catkins, and dark foliage that pack into downspout outlets. While freezing nights happen, ice dams in gutters are not an issue in Del Rio, and snow remains rare. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect residential roofing systems from overflow damage during sudden desert storms.
