When Dallas gutters fill up
Tree species common in the region, including broadleaf live oak, pecan, cedar elm, crape myrtle, post oak, loblolly pine, and ashe juniper, drop material year-round. Broadleaf live oak leaves fall in spring rather than fall, while oak catkins and pecan shells fall in spring, juniper pollen drops in winter, and general leaf drop usually peaks in early November. Although freezing nights happen in Dallas, snow is rare and ice dams in gutters are not an issue. Because debris collects across every season, we recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, in spring and fall, to keep water flowing continuously through your gutters and downspout channels.
