Debris Accumulation and Drainage Conditions
Over time, residential gutter troughs capture fallen leaves, broken twigs, airborne dirt, and granular roof runoff. When these materials settle, they form dense mats that obstruct the natural pitch of the metal or vinyl channels. If debris migrates toward the downspout drop outlets, water flow slows down significantly. During heavy precipitation, pooled water backs up behind these localized dams, placing unnecessary weight on the mounting brackets and causing overflow along the roofline.
